My Boro Chacha

Is there any greater testament to the goodness and humanity of someone's soul than the beautiful imprint they leave forever on another person.

In that measure, Baharul Elem, or lovingly known to me as Boro Chacha, has surpassed all measures with the kindness of his soul and his loving approach to life.

When I was a young teenager, I was surrounded by a peer of enabled and superficial kids, and I was just as shallow - thinking about materialistic trappings and peer approval.
At that criticial point in my life, my perspective and my personality improved at the point in time when Boro Chacha and I spent quality time together. I remember us going for walks
at the crack of dawn where we would go sit by this lake -  and though he had lived the majority of his life abroad, he never ceased to amaze me when each day he could name every single
tree we saw and every single bird we saw. He awoke my passion for nature - which would go on to grow all my life during my travels and is my source of peace more and more these days.
He taught me about great authors like Rushdie one of his favorites and awakened my passion for poetry, reading and literature. His attitute was light, he was a person who everyone felt better after talking to
because he always tried to make people laugh by telling them very.... very silly jokes. Often times they would laugh. Not because the joke was good. Only because he would break into contagious laughter after the punchline and
you coudlnt help but join in.His enthusiasm for life and living was infectous.

But i dont miss him.

I dont miss him, because all of this, his humor his passion for nature his passion for the arts is so strongly imprinted in me - he left a part of him inside of me and it is a part I will always carry and treasue.I know that he left me a better person, and I will always cherish the qualities that i learnt make a good man from my dear boro chacha.
